| Description |
The Spinoff Quilt is perfect for quilters new to piecing with curves. The class includes the basics of sewing a precise quarter circle square, and we’ll talk about how to achieve an accurate circle for the center of the quilt design. The class will cover strategies for selecting fabric, tips and tricks for curved piecing, and alternate arrangements to create different effects. Spinoff finishes at 45” square. Class fee includes printed pattern. The Supply List below includes paper templates. Optional acrylic templates available are for purchase at warmfolk.com. See exact link below after the Supply List. | About Your Teacher |
Daisy Aschehoug makes quilts with designs that utilize basic building blocks to create unexpected geometric arrangements. Most of her work combines curved piecing techniques with a modern traditional design aesthetic, and many of her quilts have been published in pattern magazines, included in book compilations, and won international awards. In 2020, Daisy published her first book with co-author Heather Black: Quilt Modern Curves and Bold Stripes. Her second book, Quilting with Curves, was published in May of 2023.
Daisy moved from the United States to Norway with her family in 2017, and she maintains a quilt studio just south of Oslo on the peninsula of Nesodden. Daisy is a member of Norsk Quilteforbundet, the Modern Quilt Guild, and the Studio Art Quilt Associates. |
